Transfers & Rain

Hello family and friends,

What a week! We got our transfer news and….. Sister Smith and I are staying in Lawton! But they are adding another set of sisters who we will visit as STLs making it 6 companionships! So we’ll be doing training exchanges every week! I’m excited! One of our Zone Leaders got called to be an Assistant. It was crazy! I’m excited for this transfer for a few reasons: 1. GENERAL CONFERENCE!!!! 2. Our investigators are close to being ready for baptism, and 3. The warm weather…oh wait, it’s tornado season… nevermind 🙂 Yes tornado season has officially started. We had our first thunderstorm on Saturday, and when it rains in Oklahoma it POURS. We went to Ardmore, Oklahoma to visit the sisters there and we definitely got kind of lost on our way home, but we enjoyed the scenery and took some great pics! Oklahoma country is gorgeous and green!

On Monday, Sister Armistead and Ellingson who used to serve as sister missionaries in our mission came back to visit, and we went on splits with them! Sister Ellingson and I visited Jasmine (the 9 year old) and went tracting! We had a blast and found some people who were interested! It was fun! John almost dropped us too! It was crazy! He said he was too busy to meet with us and we were so sad, but we told him we wanted to meet with him one last time. We felt strongly that we should teach the Plan of Salvation, and when we got there he told us his friend had just passed away in a car accident. SPIRIT PUNCH! Wow… it was crazy and sad, but we were able to tell him that Heavenly Father’s plan is for him and will help him feel peace during this difficult time. We felt the Spirit so strongly, and two ward members who had come with us also bore testimony. We also taught the Book of Mormon class on “Likening the Scriptures Unto Us.” It went really well we think. We did a demonstration on likening the scriptures by deep reading verses from Ether 2 about the Brother of Jared, then we applied it to our lives and then gave them all stories to do the same and they shared them. It was neat. I’ve been really thinking about how much our Heavenly Father loves us. We mean everything to Him. In a talk given by President Uchtdorf, he said, “This is a paradox of man: compared to God, man is nothing; yet we are everything to God.” In Psalms it says, “When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet.” I love those scriptures which give us purpose and identity. I love my Savior who makes it possible for me to return to live with Heavenly Father and to be made whole again! Always remember that God loves you!

I love y’all!

Have a great week!
